The Vietnam-HIV ATTC is comprised of three separate programs: Hanoi Medical University (HMU) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMP), and the University of Labour and Social Affairs (ULSA).

The Vietnam ITTC works closely with University partners, and domestic and international experts to contribute to the development of science in addiction medicine and improve the capacity of health care professionals the field of addiction treatment. Our commitment toward a better community and society is to reduce the risk of HIV transmission and public health issues and improve the physical and emotional health of patients with HIV and/or substance use disorders (SUDs).

The Mission and Vision of the Vietnam ITTC is to:

  • Introduce, transfer and accelerate the adoption and implementation of evidence-based and promising addiction treatment and recovery-oriented practices and services; accordingly, contribute to improve the services quality, facilitate the limitation of substance abuse and HIV epidemic;
  • Act as a bridge to foster regional and national alliances among culturally diverse practitioners, researchers, policy makers, funders, and the recovery community.

  • The vision of the Vietnam ITTC is to support SUD and HIV patients through transferring evidence-based and promising treatment and recovery-oriented practices with appropriate adaptation into the specific condition and context of Vietnam.
